Katharina Dany Martin was born in Braunschweig in Germany in 1971. Her father Dieter Martin was a company grade officer in the army. He was a helicopter pilot who died in a flying accident 1978. Since her 6th year she was a competitive gymnastics.

Aberrant circumstances of her adolescence made her leaving to the USA. She went to LA California where she lived 2 ½ years and worked as a Stripper. Back in Germany, approx. 1991 -1992, she started her research about Drugs. In 1993 she went back to school and in 1995 she finished her high school diploma.

She gave birth to a son in 1994. Martin worked as a professional acrobatic performance artist, while she was studying pedagogy. In 1999 she had a car accident, in which her son died. After the dead of her son, Martin went on working in the scene of dance and acrobatic presentations till 2001.

She went back to University where she finished her pedagogy study and wrote her graduation work over the outsider art of a schizophrenic artist. In the winter of 2003 she began the study of art. In the summer of 2006 she graduated with 2 BFA, one in media art and one in monumental art. She lives and works in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Since then she had group and solo exhibitions in Europe and America. This year she started a postgraduate and Ph.D. research study at the german Academy of Fine Arts in Münster.
